russo_gymAbout us

On the 23rd of March 2003 a group of young guys who all had interest to martial arts came together in one Estonian city called Parnu. With the same interests and ideas of uniting young kids and introducing them to a way of life that could teach them fitness, but also the philosophies behind martial arts – that is how Everlast Fight Team was founded. When we first started we had a small gym, about 100m2 with not much equipment and no professional trainers. The idea behind creating Everlast Fight Team was to teach young children discipline and keeping them fit in a fun and safe place where they could train for free.

We have kept that philosophy and have been training people without a training fee ever since we opened our doors. We have been self-sponsored from the beginning. First we concentrated on boxing and within that year we already had  Estonian Champion. We have never been strict in our training, however we taught our students discipline in a way they enjoyed and understood. We have had numerous trainers who have shown us the best of them. By the year 2004 our gym was  represented in the European Championships, numerous local Estonian Champions and ongoing classes 6 times a week. Training sessions were organized by a group of young fighters.

Henri Lebedev was the first one who brought glory to Everlast Fight Team by becoming Estonian Champion in the year of 2003. He also trained numerous young fighters and continues to do so until the present day. In the year of 2004 Everlast Fight Team had the opportunity to move to a larger gym to be more adequate for the growing number of members. Now we have a 500 m2 gym, with full size boxing ring, a full size wrestling matt and all the necessary equipment needed to make it the most popular and respected gyms in Estonia. The year 2004 also introduced Muay Thai classes, kickboxing and K-1, which eventually became our main interests.
Within the last three years Everlast Fight Team have been represented in the following countries:

  • Ukraine
  • Russia
  • Estonia
  • Thailand
  • China
  • Australia
  • Malaysia
  • Holland
  • Poland

Some of our best fighters are competing in K-1, Muay Thai and professional boxing and we have started wrestling classes in hope to have the MMA from the next season. However in the meantime they have upcoming fights in Europe, Japan, Australia and Thailand.

About history of Fight Sports

Where do fight sports originate – it is a questions hard to ask. As long as we know about the history and culture of mankind, there has always been warriors, nowadays we call them fighters. So I think it is easier to ask – what are fight sports and why are they useful? There is a saying:”Death smiles at all of us, all we can do is smile back.” This is one of the things that fight sports are about. It is an ultimate challenge against another men and yourself. The price of victory is glory and wealth, loss used to mean death, but nowadays it has changed. When it comes to man against man combat it is the ultimate way to test your physical and mental strength. From the experience of many fighters they have said that mental strength is even more important when it comes to fighting. So being a good fighter is not only about having strong muscles, your mind must be sharp and trained as well. So we can say fight sports are ultimate test where you have to use both your mind and your body 110%, any mistake can be fatal. So it is not easy to be a good fighter, a warrior. You have to discipline yourself and set limits of what you are and what you are not doing. Just as any other profession, a professional fighter is a master of his art. When it comes to fighting his body and mind will become one. To become one of the best means to defeat many great fighters.  In order to do that you have to defeat yourself first. Once if you have defeated yourself, you will smile back at death.
